Drabble 13 - KiNata - "Honesty"
For Macorna. Ended up being 150 because there was just too much information for 100, and it seemed awkward at 200. My bad.
Title: Giving Second a Chance
Series: Naruto
Pairing: Kiba x Hinata
Rating: PG, but only just in case.
Summary: Aren't these kind of redundant? I mean, a drabble is basically a summary of an unwritten story.
Giving Second a Chance
------------
Hinata gently put the small brown puppy on the floor and watched it sniff at the other ninja’s feet.
“I don’t want it!” Kiba snapped, his back turned away from the doorframe.
“Please, Kiba-san? He really seems to like you.”
Whirling around, Kiba glared at the offending fluffy canine.
“It,” he said disdainfully, “is nothing like Akamaru. It could never replace him.” His harsh voice faltered slightly over his faithful companion’s name.
Hinata stepped towards her team-mate and clasped his hands together, blushing all the while, “But don’t you see? He’s not supposed to. You loved Akamaru, and nothing will ever change that or take its place . . . but that doesn’t mean that there isn’t room for something – on someone – different.”
It was a long moment before Kiba nudged the puppy with his shoe.
“I’ll give it a shot.” He said gruffly.
Hinata smiled, whispering, “So will I.”
And they did.

I'm undecided on this one.
