Drabble 06 - Grantaire - "Absinthe"

My first totally non-serious drabble. I don't count this as Graintaire/Enjolras, because that's not the point of the drabble, even though there is mention of it.

Summary: What really goes through Grantaire's head when he awakes in the Corinth after his long slumber. Not intended to be taken seriously.


Grantaire awoke, and immediately knew what he must do: die.

He had to show Enjolras that he was capable of faith, of devotion, and of self-sacrifice – to sum, of belief in that singular figurehead that dominated his heart. He had to keep his angel from suffering the horror of dying alone. He had to prove to himself that he wasn’t just a wine-cask, that he had some meagre amount of usefulness left untouched for years on end.

But mostly, he had to rid himself of the worst hangover that he had ever experienced in all his time as a drunkard.

Heehee, I like this, for some odd, demented reason. Don't know if anyone else will, but who knows?
