NOT written while away, actually. I wrote this last night and decided to post it as a break from the Petshop-ness.

Nelson, Wolfe, Murphy – dead. Three others, not his own – dead.
Morgan and Reid – alive. Delayed by a flat tire and replaced by strangers. He could still remember their faces when they arrived, too late to help and too late to die. He could still remember the fires.
He should feel worse about taking pleasure from this, his forbidden bliss. But when Spencer was cushioned against him softly in sleep, there were no more dreams of fire and bodies and explosions that shook the world. And on nights like these, he needed that relief.
