Drabble 02 - HotoNuri - "Temporary"
Number two is out, for all you HotoNuri fans.
Title: Temporary
Series: Fushigi Yuugi
Pairing: Hotohori x Nuriko (sort of . . . )
Warnings: Slight shounen-ai, gender ambiguity.
Rating: PG
Timeframe: Before and immediately following the beginning of the manga.
Summary: Nuriko and gender, as it relates to Hotohori.
Temporary
Kourin, the flower of the imperial harem, smiled softly as her lord led the way through his gardens – never mind that she knew the way quite well, after all their walks.
They sat, as always, beneath the blossoms of the peach trees. She was glad to be the chosen companion of her Heika-sama; when they were together, it was easy to believe that she truly was Kourin.

The Emperor’s eyes were devoid of recognition when he thanked her for the rescue of his priestess; she’d been swept aside, like so much dust, and forgotten.
Ryuuen knew then that he loved.
