Summary: Piccolo thinks as he flies to fight Freeza on Namek.



Right to Defend

Piccolo ground his teeth together as he flew towards the far-off mass of ki. Kaio was a fool to think that he would sit idly by on earth while Gohan fought on his home planet. The brat wasn’t ready to be a warrior; despite his incredible potential, he was much too soft-hearted.

And . . . dammit, he wanted Gohan to look up to him. Son might have greater right as father, but is was Piccolo, not he, who had trained the boy, and that had to count for something.

A sudden downward spike in his protégé’s ki prompted Piccolo to greater speed.
