cheloya's prompt, aka: the title. Life is good, and then it sucks.
1. All Fairest Things
It was Sunday morning, which meant bacon and waffles for Chris, and the very best cheesecake from Pierre’s for D. The good detective was so obliging whenever he got it into his head that D knew something.
Of course, he usually did.
2. Shadow and Dream
Leon wakes up suddenly on the floor of a cheap motel bedroom, his legs tangled in the sheets and the itchy comforter. The alarm clock glows red: three-fourty-one am. Early, but he won’t be going back to sleep anytime soon.
He gets up and readies himself for another pointless day of driving on a road that leads to nowhere.
