Acceptance
Feather Qwill
Looking at the goban before him, Fujiwara no Sai understood his purpose. It was not, he realized at last, to achieve the Kami no Itte, nor to play Go for eternity.
Strands of amethyst hair spilled forward as he bowed his head.
“I resign.”
Green orbs blinked in confusion as they rose up from the goban.
The teacher smiled gently at the student who had finally surpassed him.
“Well done, Hikaru.”
Placing his fan on the ground beside him, he was only slightly surprised when it did not fade away.
After a thousand years, Fujiwara no Sai left the world.
