I Think Not, Sir [G - Jeeves/Bertie - Jeeves & Wooster]

Halloween Fic #5

Title: I Think Not, Sir
Fandom: Jeeves & Wooster
Pairing/Characters: Jeeves/Bertie
Rating: G
Words: 178

Notes/Summary: Crack!Fic. Jeeves disapproves of Bertie's chosen attire. (ie: this fic is Nothing New.)

“Absolutely not, sir.”

“But Jeeves!” I protested, “It’s tradition! These Americans have been doing it for years.”

His head somehow - I’ve never been able to quite figure out how he does this sort of thing - gave the distinct impression of tilting disapprovingly without actually doing so.

Clud went my heart in disappointment. I had so wanted his approval. “Now look here, Jeeves,” said I, determined not to give sway, “It’s all very well and good for you to say ‘nay’ to the occasional tie or sock, but this is a special occasion. Costumes aren’t meant to be dignified.”

“Precisely, sir.” He said this with a Tone.

I spluttered incoherently for a moment or three.

“Jeeves,” I said, “I am the master of this house and I have made up my mind to wear this costume.”

--

Well. I won’t go into details - that is, Jeeves has forbidden me to do so - but suffice it to say that Jeeves can be very convincing when he chooses.

The kangaroo suit ended up a prop in some children’s theatre, I believe.

end.
