By all rights I ought to resent him more than I do. He killed my only chance of escape. I shouldn’t be quite so terrified for him, so furious at the skinwalker.
I cannot bear to watch this, to see her torture him, and stand by uselessly. Powerlessly. There was a time when I could destroy her with a less than a word.
The dreadful sound of ripping flesh brings me to the edge, draws out a desperation of the like I have never known before. I’m sorry, Harry, but this is a sacrifice I cannot allow you to make.
