I don’t know what to think. It’s good to see him like this again, alive with the thrill of the hunt. It’s the right time, I’m sure of that; his crutch of academia has ceased to be beneficial.

But a part of me, a small selfish part of me, resents it. I’ve gotten too used to not having to share him. Morgan hasn’t come by in months, and Hotch only rarely.

Go away, Hotch, I wanted to say, take your case elsewhere and leave us be. But I’ve never been very good at expressing myself, which is another problem entirely.
