Last Resorts [ G - D/Leon - PSoH - fanfic]
Well, as promised, here is another Petshop ficlet for ff100. This one is a [mild] crossover with Angel (the TV series). Familiarity with the latter is not required, suffice it to say that he is a vampire who runs a detective agency which specializes in the supernatural.

Summary: Leon enlists the aid of a private detective to help find D.
Leon stood outside the decrepit hotel and looked doubtfully at the address on the business card. He'd chased D across the Atlantic, through Europe, and over Asia. Every time he got close it was the same old song and dance; mere hours before he closed in on the Petshop, its owner would mysteriously pack up and disappear - along with countless hoards of seriously creepy animals.
Now, finally, they were back where it all started, in the good old US of A. This time, Leon wasn't going to let D escape. This time, Leon had a plan.
Swallowing his doubts, he took one last glimpse at the boarded-up windows and stepped into the once-proud Hyperion. The overly cheerful receptionist, disturbing in her juxtaposition to the gloom, greeted him with a gleaming smile.
"Welcome to Angel Investigations, where we help the helpless!"
